Nino Maissouradze, illustrator, performer, teacher and coach, has a great fascination for people and their idiosyncrasies. Over the past few years, she delved assiduously into the world of online dating with her book “Trek je de volgende keer een jurkje aan?” published by Loopvis. The talk will perform the stories that did not make it to the book.
Carmen José, illustrator, educator and organizer, is amazed about trees. While wandering under them she wondered: when did we learn to represent trees in a certain way? And what does this say about our relationship to the world?. Her book “I Don’t Know How to Draw a Tree” published by Rotopol approaches these questions through poetry, written and visual.
Masha Zotova is an illustrator, tattoo artist and a storyteller. She is a whimsical creature whose goal is to remind you of magic around us and the silliness within. Through her illustrations and tattoos Masha creates stories and creatures that guide people towards the wondrous unknown.
Rotterdam Illustration Festival
The Rotterdam Illustration Festival is an initiative of Carmen José, Michael van Kekem, and Rachel Sender. They’re illustrators and educators. This festival is a response to the feedback they’ve heard loud and clear: illustrators want to feel more connected and less alone in the freelance world. We believe that by coming together, whether it’s to learn, share, or discuss, we can all grow together. That’s why the festival is all about gatebreaking; tearing down walls and opening doors, instead of gatekeeping.
This is your space to meet like-minded creatives, swap stories, and find inspiration.
