Arpilleras Workshop
In preparation for International Women’s Day!
locatie: WORM
Join us for a hands-on workshop on Arpilleras, a powerful Latin American textile art form used for storytelling and resistance. In collaboration with @warmi_kuyen a feminist collective of Latin American women artists and cultural organizers based in the Netherlands, we will explore how this craft has been a tool for political expression and advocacy.
This workshop is part of the project “100 Butterflies for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Girls, and Non-Binary People”, where we will collectively create a large Arpillera full of textile butterflies, inspired by the history of commitment and struggle of the Mirabal sisters (Las Mariposas).
